I will never forget the first time I met Elle and Jesús for their initial meeting. We met at a local Starbucks only to find out it was super crowded. Depending on the time of day, it’s not uncommon to find other people there who are studying or having meetings as well. That is not what made our appointment memorable though. It was that it was so crowded that when I went to sit down, I proceeded to hit the corner of the table and I spilled coffee all over Elle’s brand new purse! I was absolutely mortified but they both kept their composure and insisted it was ok. To say these weren’t one of the sweetest couples I have ever had would be an understatement! Needless to say, they decided to book me and trust me with their most special day. I am so glad they did as this wedding was so unique and one of my favorites.

Elle and Jesús wanted to combine both tradition and their own unique style. They wanted to get married at a Catholic Church but they wanted a fun and care free reception. They got married at St. Catherine of Siena in Denver and had their reception at The Rackhouse Pub downtown. What was also very unique is that they wanted a morning wedding. This was my first morning wedding and I honestly didn’t know how it would be but let me tell you that it was pretty amazing! So if you are ever thinking of having one, don’t worry as it will be just as great as an evening one!

One of my favorite most memorable things about their wedding, is that before they met each other at church for their ceremony, they met each other for a first look at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was just them two taking in their day. Since the Catholic church doesn’t allow you to read your own written vows, what made their moment much more special is that they read each other their own written vows after their first look (tear!)

Their ceremony was at 10a.m. and went flawlessly in front of their 260 family and friends. After that everyone headed to The Rackhouse where Brunch was served which made me realize more weddings need to have delicious brunch food! ha! Guests were invited to play GIANT sized games such as Jenga, Connect Four, and beer pong with actual metal barrels and giant balls! DJ Chonz from KS107.5 radio station also played some pretty great music that had everyone out of their seats.

One other tradition that they decided to keep was to pass on the red bouquet that E had caught at a previous wedding. She said it was lucky because she caught it and then J asked her to marry him. When she asked me if she should still throw it at her wedding, my response to her was, “ABSOLUTELY!” because I’m a sucker for all things romantic 🙂 Well she threw the bouquet and the girl that caught it was the girlfriend of Jesus’ brother…..and guess what? I am now planning their upcoming wedding for 2020! Hopefully they will continue with the tradition and toss the lucky bouquet as well!

Both Elle and Jesús and their families were super sweet and I am so thankful that they trusted me with their special day. I will forever be grateful to have been a part of it.
