When I first met with Alex and Ricky for coffee I knew I was going to love their family! They are both very down to Earth people and one of the most important things to them was that they wanted to make sure their families had fun at the wedding. They didn’t want their families to have to worry about a thing! Alex is also a type A person (my kind of person!) and wanted to make sure all her plans were executed flawlessly. At our first meeting Alex also let me know I was recommended by her sister, who was present at one of the weddings I had previously planned. I had no idea who her sister was until the rehearsal. She was Alex’s MOH and as soon as I saw her I remembered her face. She had asked me for one of my cards the previous year during the wedding of one of her friends. She was very sweet and told me she had been watching me work and she definitely thought her sister needed a planner as well. I love this because sometimes it’s hard for us planners to sell something intangible. That is until you see us work during the wedding day. I really appreciated that Alex’s sister noticed our hard work. Thank you Andrea!

The wedding was a blast! 380 guests, a Catholic ceremony at St. Cajetan’s (I grew up in that area so it was special to me), the reception at McNichols Civic Center in Denver, 12 people in their bridal party, a lot of vendors and if you have been to McNichols before, you know there are three floors that guests will interact with and be guided through. This was definitely a challenge but one I was determined to help Alex and Ricky with so that they could have a great time on their day. My team was definitely on top of everything (including running out for ice when the bartenders ran out) and I couldn’t have done this without them. Some of my favorite moments of the day was seeing Alex and Ricky have some alone time right after the ceremony, their first dance, Alex and her sorority sisters chanting and dancing, and the overall vibe of their wedding! Everyone was literally out in the dance floor leaving most of the tables alone! I loved their wedding and it will be one that I will remember for a long time.
